Jace Ward is a pre-law student, 20 years old, who was diagnosed in May of 2019 with DIPG, diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma, notorious in the oncology community for its dismal <1% survival rate. He will be among our panelists in the upcoming briefing scheduled for February 13, 2020.
Because most diagnosed are young children between 5-9 years of age, and die within a year, and the symptoms of DIPG can be torturously limiting, it is rare for someone of this age and eloquence to be able to speak to the realities of the disease. Even with hopeful advocacy, the decades of darkness and silence overshadow the urgent cries for support this disease continues to destroy. The Congressional Briefing will be an opportunity for Jace Ward and world renown experts to speak to the reality of DIPG and the unparalleled value of the much underfunded research for pediatric brain cancer, and the doors that DIPG awareness can open not only for science but for HOPE to thousands of children with brain cancer, the #1 disease-related cause of death for children in America. This is our Moonshot4Kids!
